We wouldn't be the dumb kids anymore

We wouldn't be the kids with scraped knees

We wouldn't be the teenagers with broken hearts anymore.

One day,

We'll be having a job, a family

A life where you and I are strangers

A life in which our tales, when told, will sound silly.

One day,

We wouldn't be able to recognise these faces

We wouldn't remember those kids

Those kids with running noses

Who tripped over open laces.

One day,

If we see each other again

I hope it takes one glance

One glance, to become the dumb kids

All over again.
